Read the chapter and mark that you've read it.
Today, thousands of health and fitness pros will begin the slow, painful process of failing to deliver results to their clients.
In gyms and homes around the world, people will meet their new coach or trainer for the first time, starting-what they hope-will be a life-changing journey to better health and fitness.
On the surface everything will seem fine.
It will look and feel like the beginning of a great relationship: There will be stories told, exercises performed, jokes cracked, and high-fives given.
But as the days, weeks, and months go by...
As more money changes hands and less weight and inches are lost...
As the client fails to follow instructions and the coach fails to get them back on track...
There will reach a point in which it will become embarrassingly clear:
The client isn't getting the results they're paying for.
And you, the trainer or coach, are to blame.
But it doesn't have to be that way.
Become a world-class coach with help from me and my Precision Nutrition team.
Whether you're currently in the health and fitness industry or are thinking about turning your passion for health into a new career, there's a way to build confidence in your coaching ability, change people's lives, and have a rewarding career.
I know because I've done it.
And along with my Precision Nutrition team, we've helped thousands of other health and fitness professionals become better coaches, rekindling their passion and forever changing the trajectory of their careers.
What if you could learn how to:
- Help your clients change their deeply-ingrained eating and lifestyle habits... even if they've tried and failed before.
- Get results with any person who walks through your door... even the toughest client.
- Banish the feeling of being a fraud or under-qualified... and instead learn the systems and skills necessary to do life-changing work.
- Stand out from the "average" trainer or nutritionist... and earn respect from your community and peers.
- Make a lasting impact on your clients' lives... and maybe even change your own in the process.
It's all possible. And in the next few minutes, I'll show you the very first step to take.
"We have tried every nutrition program out there. Precision Nutrition is by far the most thorough, informative, effective system we have seen. Not only is our entire team PN-certified, we recommend it to every gym we consult with."
Alwyn and Rachel Cosgrove, Founders of Results Fitness.
"This certification is not only incredibly thorough, it is also mixes practicality and reality into the program. The Precision Nutrition team is as interested in science as they are behavioral modification. And that's the true way to get results."
Martin Rooney, creator of the Training for Warriors system.
"Not only will you come away from the certification with a tremendous amount of knowledge about nutrition - you will also gain valuable skills on how to assess and help each client you work with."
Kirstin Schell, Education manager of GoodLife Fitness.
The experts other experts come to for help.
Hi, I'm Dr. John Berardi, co-founder of Precision Nutrition.
- Nutrition and fitness pioneer (over two decades in the health industry)
- PhD in nutritional biochemistry
- Coach to Olympic and professional athletes from every major sport
- Consultant to top companies including Apple, Nike, Equinox, and Virgin
- Author, writer, and speaker
Here's something I'm very proud of: We do things differently at Precision Nutrition.
Over the years, we've built a reputation as the go-to source for the latest scientific research on nutrition and coaching psychology.
But we're not simply scientists.
While other companies make recommendations based on "theories", my team and I are in the trenches every day, working with real clients.
Every year, thousands of people go through our online coaching programs. We keep rigorous data on everything they do and use it to constantly improve our methods. The result? Thousands of people get in amazing shape-and learn how to stay that way for life.
But it's not just people who need to lose fat or improve their health that come to us for help.
The world's best health and fitness experts trust us, too.
Acclaimed health professionals and doctors. Top coaches for major sports teams. The people who write bestselling exercise and health books.
When serious experts need help getting better results with their clients, they come to us to learn how.
As one fitness expert put it, "Being trained by Precision Nutrition is a bit like learning how to paint with Picasso."
Of course, that may be a little too generous. (I do appreciate it, though.)
But it does speak to how serious we are about:
- slicing through confusing nutrition and coaching advice
- gathering the best research
- rigorously testing to find out what works
- turning it all into easy-to-follow steps
- keeping health and fitness pros accountable and on-track, and
- helping them change their clients' lives
How good would it feel to help your clients get fantastic, life-changing results like this?

Not just with some clients. But with every client that hires you.
My team and I are here to help you do just that.
While we enjoy working with folks like the ones above (all graduates of our online coaching program), our passion is helping health and fitness professionals like you.
We believe you're doing the most important job in the world: helping people eat, move, and live better.
That's why we want to make sure that you get the knowledge and systems you need to change lives and build a rewarding career.
"Sometimes I feel like a fraud..."
and other painful confessions.
Anyone who knows Precision Nutrition knows we do a lot of research.
That's why we have an entire team dedicated to interviewing health and fitness professionals. We want to see what they're struggling with and where they need the most help.
In the past year, we've done over 100 of these raw, honest interviews. And our findings have been very surprising and eye-opening.
Here's some of what we've heard from over 100 health and fitness pros...
Do you see yourself in any of these comments?
I don't know about you, but I can really relate to this.
That's because many years ago, I was in the exact same place.
Back then, I knew what it felt like to be anxious about my lack of skills. I knew how discouraging it was to see other trainers doing well. And I knew what it was like to fail to deliver results to my clients. (More on that in a minute.)
I've since heard from thousands of other health and fitness professionals who are struggling with those same issues.
These are not "unmotivated" or "lazy" people; they're intelligent professionals who truly want to get better at their craft.
Unfortunately, they look to all the wrong places for help:
- They earn more exercise certifications... even though they already know how to put someone through a training session.
- They read the latest nutrition research and fitness books... even though they rarely get usable, actionable advice that will work with their clients.
- They go to seminars and workshops... even though they've heard most of it before.
Most health and fitness professionals are knowledge-hunters and lifelong learners. They want to constantly improve their skills.
It's actually one thing I love about our industry-we're all on a quest to get better.
The only drawback?
That quest often takes us away from the real, underlying problem that's hurting our clients and our business.
So what's the REAL problem?
You may think it's ambition. (It's not.)
You may think it's marketing. (Not usually.)
You may think it's lack of exercise experience. (Nope.)
The real issue is something much deeper:
Most health and fitness professionals working today have a coaching problem.
They have a hard time translating all their knowledge about fitness and nutrition into actionable steps their clients will follow.
Sure, they can take someone through a workout or make "healthy recommendations"...
But only a small percentage of health and fitness professionals know anything about effective, life-changing coaching.
Especially when it comes to coaching nutrition or introducing new lifestyle habits.
Think about that for a minute.
We all know that our habits can make us... or break us.
And we all know that what our clients eat-or don't eat-will often be the deciding difference on whether or not they get good results. (And remember: results are what they're paying us for.)
That's why it's so shocking to realize that most health and fitness professionals-even the ones with multiple training certifications-don't have a proven nutrition system or the coaching skills required to help their clients eat better or adopt healthier lifestyle habits.
It's absolutely the biggest opportunity to help more people and make more money... but most coaches miss it completely.
Nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle:
Learning how to coach changes everything.
When you learn how to coach effectively, everything changes.
- Clients that used to seem "tough" become fun, simple puzzles to solve.
- Your confidence skyrockets since you can consistently get great results.
- You find better ways to convey information to your clients.
- You earn respect from other experts in the fitness industry.
How do I know?
I used to be one of those health and fitness professionals without a proven nutrition coaching system.
Back then, I was a trainer working in Miami Beach, and wondering why I wasn't getting great results with every client.
I had no problem teaching exercise. Once my clients got in the gym, I knew I could get them to do their best. But in many cases, that simply wasn't enough, and it didn't take a genius to figure out why:
My clients weren't eating right.
No problem, I thought. I know a lot about nutrition. I'll just teach them what I know.
Man, was that a mistake.
Because no matter how much I implored, begged, or chastised them, most of my clients couldn't stick with the simple nutritional recommendations I gave them.
At first, I blamed my clients. They're just lazy! They're not doing the things I'm telling them to do! They don't want it bad enough!
But after seeing so many of my clients struggle, it occurred to me that it might be my fault.
Maybe I was the one doing something wrong.
That realization led me to close down my business in Miami and start a new journey: learning everything I could about nutrition coaching-especially how to help my clients change their deeply-ingrained habits.
And throughout my study, three big problems kept resurfacing.
Problem #1:
You can't "out-exercise" poor eating habits.
I won't spend much time on this because it's something we ALL know: most of our clients aren't eating well.
We know that nutrition is more important than exercise when it comes to improving health, performance, and body composition. And we know that what our clients eat-or don't eat-will directly influence their results.
But how often do we, as professionals, directly influence our clients?
Let's run some quick numbers:
If we see our clients 3 times per week for one hour... that still leaves 165 hours when they're not with us.
And what exactly are they doing with those 165 hours? We have no idea.
But chances are good they're not following the nutrition recommendations we gave them on their way out the door.
That's why it's sad to see so many trainers using their 3 hours to try and "out-exercise" their client's poor eating and lifestyle choices.
Without some kind of coaching connection outside of the typical training session-without some kind of nutrition or lifestyle accountability-most fitness professionals have a very difficult time helping their clients stay on track when they're not with them in the gym.
Of course, many coaches eventually realize this.
And when they do, they often move right into Problem #2: Giving their clients a meal plan or a diet to follow.
Problem #2:
Meal plans and diets don't work for 99% of clients.
I don't know how it started, but most health and fitness professionals-my younger self included-seem to think that what we did to get in shape will work for our clients too.
So we write up detailed meal plans and nutrition rules for our clients to follow... and then we wonder why they fail to follow it.
Years ago, after years of writing diets for every one of my clients and having 99% of them fail, I became frustrated and disillusioned.
Am I even good enough to be helping these people? I thought.
Eventually, I had a realization, one that forever changed the way I looked at my clients and how I gave advice:
My realization: My clients are not me.
In other words, what helped me get in shape will likely not work for them.
Why?
Aside from the obvious reasons like different body types, backgrounds, and goals, there's something else I was missing: I'm incredibly passionate about nutrition and fitness.
I LOVE this stuff. (You probably do too.)
Which means I want to read and experiment and try everything to see how it works... even if it's sometimes inconvenient or borderline obsessive.
But our clients? They don't care.
They don't care about macronutrients.
They don't care about protein synthesis.
They don't care about why eating more plants is good for you.
Know what they care about?
- waking up and feeling good
- hearing "you look amazing!" from a friend
- not hating themselves when they have a late-night binge
- cooking a dinner their entire family will enjoy
- knowing what to eat when they're at a restaurant
- not being a weird, obsessive fitness person
Personally, I realized all the high-level science I was feeding my clients was causing them to fail.
And switching from that to giving general nutrition advice was just as bad.
(Let's be honest: general advice like "eat more protein and veggies" or "try to reduce the amount of carbs you eat this week" is meaningless.)
That's when I understood that my clients didn't need what I thought was best for them. They needed what was actually best for them.
They needed simple and healthy nutrition and fitness practices.
Practices that matched their lifestyle. Things they could do without much hassle or thought. Practices that wouldn't seem like much at first, but that would lead to big results over time.
And me?
I needed a proven, reliable coaching process to figure out how to actually help them do it.
But... where do you even go to learn how to do that?
Problem #3:
It's hard to find someone who can teach you this stuff.
When I set out to learn how to effectively coach nutrition, I quickly realized that there was almost no place to go.
Instead, here's what I found:
Option #1: Get a weekend nutrition certification.
There are nutrition "certifications" out there that are a joke. They usually take place over a weekend and don't really teach you how to do anything.
Pros: It would have allowed me to market myself as a "nutrition expert" or something.
Cons: It's basically a rubber stamp that doesn't mean anything.
I opted to not do that sort of certification because I felt like they were far too basic and looked down on by most of the fitness industry. I didn't just want a piece of paper. I wanted to learn how to help my clients get results and build a thriving business.
Option #2: Become a Registered Dietitian (RD).
I also thought briefly about becoming an RD, which involves earning a bachelors degree, doing clinical internships, passing a rigorous exam, and doing continuing-education to stay registered.
Pros: An RD is a relatively well-known and respected accreditation.
Cons: It's largely focused on disease management and medical nutrition therapy; there's relatively little about exercise nutrition.
I opted not to do this either because I didn't want to work in a hospital. (Not all RDs do, but it's still the focus.) I wanted to work with regular people and athletes who could exercise.
Option #3: Become a researcher/professor (PhD).
Pros: Lots of freedom to study whatever you want in depth, including sport and exercise nutrition.
Cons: Lots of time studying and tens-of-thousands of dollars. Typically 4 years of college, plus 5 or more years working on your masters degree and PhD.
Ultimately, earning my PhD was the path I chose.
I went to study in the Exercise and Nutrition Lab at the University of Western Ontario and wrapped up my grad work in Exercise Physiology and Nutrient Biochemistry.
I earned some impressive credentials and learned high-level nutritional science... but I never got what I really set out to learn: how to coach real people to get great results in a gym or home environment.
So that's when I joined up with some very smart people and started Precision Nutrition.
That's also when everything in my world changed.
We've mastered the art and science of nutrition coaching.
During my final few years in the PhD program, I'd had enough theory. It was time to put what I learned into practice. It was time to become a world-class coach.
So we created Precision Nutrition and began testing everything I learned in my decade of intense study.
Starting the company over 15 years ago was one of the best decisions of my life.
Precision Nutrition has since grown into a huge body transformation research project. We test our ideas with thousands of real clients every day, collecting unprecedented amounts of data.
We've truly mastered the art and science of nutrition coaching.
In the past few years alone, we've:
- Worked with over 30,000 people, from all over the world.
- Used our proven nutrition system to help them successfully change their nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle habits.
- Helped our clients lose over 450,000 pounds of fat and lead healthier lives.
- Certified thousands of health and fitness professionals-including some of the best coaches in the world-and taught them how to replicate our results.
Straight talk from real health and fitness professionals.

While most trainers will continue to try and "out-exercise" their clients' poor eating habits or ignore learning how to coach altogether, there are some health and fitness professionals who gain the skills they need to change lives.
They get better results with their clients. They stand out from the average trainer.
And they learn how to do it all by following THREE rules...
How to build authority, advance your career, and get better results with your clients.
You can always earn more exercise certifications and read more books on health and fitness... and it may work for a little while... but you'll never reach your full potential if you don't follow these rules:
Rule #1: Learn how to coach your clients through simple nutrition and lifestyle habits.
We know meal plans and diets don't work. We know our clients are not as passionate about health and fitness as we are. And we know they definitely need to make better food choices.
That's why it's absolutely crucial that you learn the best nutrition protocols and step-by-step habits to help your clients practice one small thing at a time.
The days of putting everybody on the same eating plan or giving random advice they can't follow are coming to an end.
The health and fitness professionals who...
- understand how to take high-level nutrition concepts and
- simplify them into actionable steps
... will rise to the top and build better businesses in the next few years.
Those who don't have a very short career ahead of them.
Rule #2: Learn how to develop a coaching system.
If you don't have a clear, simple, repeatable process-and trusted system-for assessing, categorizing, and giving advice to clients, you're putting yourself in a very difficult place.
Knowledge is amazing, but it isn't enough. And hard work by itself can't deliver the results you're looking for.
To make a real difference in the lives of the people who hire you, you need a system for:
- assessing new clients and setting initial expectations
- monitoring progress
- making evidence-based decisions
- troubleshooting and adjusting
- evaluating new research and ideas in the field
- keeping clients on-track and motivated
With a trusted system, you'll feel more confident and in control. Things will run clearly and cleanly-especially when you get busy.
If you have a system clients trust, they'll relax and put their attention on practicing their habits. Which means faster results for everyone.
But if you don't have a system they trust? If you're just winging it every day or doing what you've always done? Your clients will focus on the wrong things and quit before ever reaching their goals.
That's a recipe for bad business.
Rule #3 : Find a mentor and work within a community of excellence.
For whatever reason, most people tend to celebrate a certain type of individual: the solo genius laboring alone.
But let's get real. It never works this way. (Which is why I didn't start Precision Nutrition on my own.)
To excel and get better, you need a community of excellence. You need a group of like-minded people chasing the same dream, interested in the same questions, dealing with the same challenges.
And you need to learn from people who have done what you want to do.
In other words, you need mentors to help guide you down the path.
That way, when questions come up, you'll have a place to go for a trusted opinion.
Questions like:
- What nutrition habits should I start my clients with?
- How do I measure and adjust their habits if they stop working?
- How do I work with a difficult client?
- What steps do I need to take to help an emotional eater?
- What if someone comes to me and wants to eat a specific kind of diet?
- What tools and assessments should I use?
We've researched, discovered, and tested the answers to all those questions and hundreds more. And we put them all into our Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification.
When health and fitness professionals work with me and the Precision Nutrition team, they get the most researched, tested, and respected nutrition coaching certification in the world. One that:
- takes the common challenges most health and fitness professionals face every day
- teaches the fundamentals of nutrition theory, and
- shows how to take that theory and turn it into actionable steps for their clients to use
"The Precision Nutrition Certification offers better tools, resources, and knowledge to enhance my skills as a coach.
If you're looking to learn more about effective, practical nutrition coaching, this is an awesome course."

Combine the power of nutrition with results-based coaching...
What happens when you learn how to effectively coach nutrition and develop a proven system for delivering results?
- You build confidence in your abilities. No more worrying about if you're doing a good job or not. Instead, each client become a fun puzzle to solve. You now have the skills required to put all the pieces together and help them change their habits.
- You become more credible and trusted. People seek you out because of your ability to get results. You're seen as the go-to expert in your community.
- You help push the fitness and nutrition industry forward. You become an elite coach who "gets it" and sees the bigger picture. You contribute to the growth of the industry and help it become more respected.
- You change people's lives. You go to bed at night knowing you did amazing work. And you wake up the next morning excited to do it all over again.
Think about what that could mean for you and your life.
What if... instead of feeling anxious when a client hit a sticking point, you knew exactly what to change to help them kick-start their progress?
What if... your clients actually followed the advice and recommendations you gave them?
What if... every morning you woke up excited for the day's sessions and the impact you're making in people's lives?
With our help, thousands of health and fitness professionals have done all that and more.
And I know this for certain: You can do it too.
"The Precision Nutrition Certification stands head and shoulders above all other nutrition programs because of its focus on actionable items for fitness professionals.

An Inside Look at the Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification.
What would it feel like to become a confident, industry-leading coach?
It's time to find out.
The Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification is NOT an e-book or weekend nutrition course.
It's not something you do half-heartedly for a month and then stop. And it's not something you can learn by just Googling or reading more books and articles.
Instead, it's a comprehensive textbook and online program that will teach you everything you need to know about coaching nutrition with your clients.
The best part? It's entirely self-paced.
You can study wherever you want and take the online exams from the comfort of your own home whenever you're ready.
Precision Nutrition has been around for over 15 years; in that time, we've spent millions of dollars in fitness, nutrition and psychology research.
We put all that research-along with practical coaching strategies-into the Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification.
And like everything we do, we guarantee it 100%.
Instead of feeling unqualified to give nutrition advice, you'll become confident in your coaching ability.
You'll learn how to take complex nutritional theory and translate the science into daily practices and habits your clients will actually follow.
Instead of feeling stressed or overwhelmed when your client hits a sticking point, you'll know exactly what to do next.
You'll learn how to assess the situation, tease apart the important information from the trivial, and adjust your client's programming to get them back on track.
Instead of being "just another" personal trainer or nutrition coach, you'll learn how to set yourself apart as a true, industry-leading expert.
The results you'll be able to get with your clients will speak louder than words. And your business will grow because of it.
Instead of "going through the motions", you'll rekindle your passion for health and fitness.
You'll wake up excited for the day's sessions and look forward to being a positive influence on everyone you work with.

"Is the Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification right for me?"
My team and I are always excited to help out new health and fitness professionals... if they're the right kind of coach, that is.
In other words, the Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification isn't for everyone.
The Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification is NOT for you if:
- You're not interested in actually learning how to coach people.
- You're just looking for a quick and easy way to "look qualified" to potential clients-without learning how to help them change their habits.
- You're stuck in your ways and aren't open to new ideas or receiving help.
- You're not willing to invest in yourself and your career.
- You want to go back to school for 4 years or more.
If it's not for you, that's fine. I sincerely wish you the best of luck and hope you find whatever you're looking for.
But... if any time during reading this page you thought Hmm... this sounds interesting or You know, that makes a lot of sense..., then there's a good chance the Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification is for you.
Precision Nutrition Certification IS for you if:
- You work in the health and fitness industry as a trainer, therapist, educator, or coach and want to learn how to get better results with your clients.
- You don't work in the industry yet, but are looking to turn your passion for fitness into a new, rewarding career.
- You enjoy learning and getting better at your job.
- You want to learn the science of nutrition and psychology of coaching.
- You want to study at your own pace.
- You want to set yourself apart from the sea of unqualified health and fitness professionals.
If that's you, I honestly believe the Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification can transform your career.
Of course, you have other options.
The Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification isn't the only option you have if you want to learn more about nutrition or how to coach people. You could also:
Go to school for a nutrition degree or become a registered dietitian: Some people simply like the structure of school, and that's fine. There are some really good nutrition degrees out there. (After all, I ended up going this route and earning my PhD.)
But there are also some major drawbacks:
- Lack of real-world coaching experience. Most nutrition degrees teach you the science of nutrition, but not how to coach someone to follow your recommendations.
- Time commitment. Some people have the luxury of going back to school for 4-6 years, but most fitness professionals I know don't want dedicate a good chunk of their life to sitting in a classroom.
- Cost. A typical nutrition degree program can cost anywhere from $80,000 - $100,000 USD in tuition and living expenses.
Read random books on coaching and nutrition. Books and articles are great resources, but they can only take you so far. To get anywhere near a comprehensive education and become competent at coaching nutrition, you'd have to read dozens of books (maybe hundreds), pick apart the pieces, put them together into one jumbled system, and test it out with your clients to see if it actually works. This could take years. And there's no guarantee it'd work, either.
Other nutrition certifications. These are a crapshoot; you never know what you're going to get. Some are way too heavy on the science with no practical application whatsoever. And others are the exact opposite: there's barely any science holding their recommendations together. Plus, many of the people who write these programs don't work with thousands of real clients like we do every year. Which makes you wonder how they get their information and if it actually works (or if it just looks good on paper).
Do nothing. I think we can both agree this is the worst choice of all. Lots of people misunderstand what doing nothing truly means. Doing nothing DOESN'T mean you stay where you are. It means you allow yourself to get worse. Lots of people do nothing because they're waiting for the "perfect time." Well, when is this so-called "perfect time?" Will it ever come? Or are you just putting something off that you know needs to be done?
Of course, there is a different option: The Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification.
It's affordable, self-paced, tested with over 30,000 REAL clients, and-unlike the options above-100% guaranteed to work.

Yep, for what some people will pay for a new phone or laptop, you can take that money and invest in yourself, learn the coaching skills you need to change lives and build a rewarding career.
My wife and I are both strength and conditioning coaches. We have around 10 certifications each. The Precision Nutrition Certification is by far the most used and useful resource we have. It's more than worth the cost. It's brought us back our investment tenfold.
- Zach W, Precision Nutrition Level 1 student
I got my first "sports nutrition" cert nearly 20 years ago and found it completely worthless. I bought into the "I'm not able to prescribe a specific diet, anyway, so all nutrition certifications are crap" mindset.
Then Precision Nutrition came along and provided an outcome-based approach to nutrition coaching. No more random 'tips', but a complete, systematic way to improve body composition and sports performance. Personally and professionally, I can't say enough good things about it.
- Joe, Precision Nutrition Level 1 student
An investment you can count on to deliver fantastic results.
Of course, $799 isn't chump change. It's an investment in yourself and your career.
But unlike other investments, with the Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification, you don't have to wait forever to see the benefits. (What's the fun in waiting, anyway?)
Instead, think of it as an investment that both protects your career for the future AND one that starts paying you immediately.
In fact, most health and fitness professionals start trying out some new coaching strategies and using the assessment tools pretty much immediately after receiving their textbook and materials. (After all, you don't have to wait till you're certified to begin trying what you're learning.)
And once you've taken the test and become fully certified? That's when your investment starts to really pay off.
Just check out what Aaron, a recent Level 1 Certification graduate, wrote to tell us: "This was TOTALLY worth it. I've changed more lives in the past 6 months than I had in the first 5 years of my career."
100% guaranteed to work for you.
Of course, like I said earlier, $799 is an investment in yourself. And I know we all want to make sure our investments really pay off.
That's why the Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification is 100% guaranteed to help you become a better coach-or your money back.
I believe that learning how to get amazing results with your clients is so important that I want to take away all of the risk for you.
So here's what I want to do:
Invest in the Level 1 Certification, and try the material for 45 days. If it's not for you, return it-and we'll give you your money back.
I'm so confident that the Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification will work for you-just as it has for thousands of other health and fitness professionals-that I'm willing to give you all your money back if it's not for you.
It's that simple.
Imagine the very near future...
So let's say you decide to invest in the Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification. What's in store for you over the next few months?
Well, of course you're going to learn our system for getting amazing results with your clients. (Including the latest in nutrition science and coaching psychology.)
And of course you're going to build credibility and confidence in your coaching skills.
But that's not what I'm talking about here. What I'm talking about are the real-life benefits and positive consequences that come from learning how to get better results with your clients.
Like what? Well...
Imagine waking up in the morning and remembering you don't have to go punch a clock at some corporate office job-instead, you get to help change people's lives through exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle coaching.
Imagine knowing exactly what habits and practices your clients need to focus on, how to communicate that to them, how to measure their progress, and how to help them through the low and high points on the way to their goals.
Imagine being part of an elite group of health and fitness professionals who push each other to grow and become better.
Imagine feeling less stressed and more confident about your career path.
What's all that worth? Can we even put a pricetag on it?
Important: Very limited number of certification spots available
Now here's a little bit of bad news: We only open our doors to new certification students twice per year, and spots sell out fast.
Why is that bad?
Because it means we're only able to help a limited amount of health and fitness professionals each time we open the Level 1 Certification.
Last year, we filled every available spot in less than 24 hours.
Since we only take a limited number of clients each round, I expect this program to sell out even faster.
So if you're ready to learn how to become a better coach with the Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification, you must act fast.
Otherwise you risk not getting in at all.

Frequently asked questions about the Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification.
Because nutrition is the missing component in the fitness and health profession today. If a training program isn't accompanied by effective nutrition system, an exerciser will get mediocre results-no matter how badly they "want it."
The fact is this: exercise alone doesn't work.
Many very good trainers and exercise coaches are having their efforts wasted because their excellent training programs aren't accompanied by a proper nutrition intervention. And that's not merely my opinion.
For example, there is ample research demonstrating that in the absence of nutrition change, even very intense exercise programs with experienced trainers will yield an average of between 3 to 6 pounds of fat loss in 6 months' time.
Think about that: a client would spend $3,000-$5,000 for 6 months with a personal trainer, only to lose a few measly, unnoticeable pounds of body fat. That's not good.
To give you a counter example, in our Precision Nutrition coaching program, clients average around 15 pounds of fat loss in the first 6 months. That's nearly 3 times as effective. In Precision Nutrition Coaching, we provide both exercise and nutrition coaching, and that's the difference.
But keep in mind: our coaching is 100% online. They get those results without ever meeting us in person.
If they work with a trainer while doing Precision Nutrition Coaching, they lose closer to 25 pounds of fat in 6 months. That's over 4 times as effective.
So that's why we developed the certification program: to teach health and fitness professionals how to effectively coach nutrition.
Because once you can do it effectively, you can deliver results that are impossible with exercise alone.
Well, for one, it's based on real client data and our own coaching experience.
We're not really a certification organization. We're coaches. So this is coming from first-hand knowledge that we use ourselves every day. This certification is based on real client results, and a reliable and reproducible system for monitoring and achieving those results. That's what you learn when you become Precision Nutrition Certified.
Two, it's designed specifically for people passionate about nutrition and fitness-including fitness professionals. So, many of our clients are coaches, therapists, physicians, and nutritionists working with people who exercise. That's very important, because most nutrition courses suffer from one of two problems:
Problem 1: They have little/nothing to do with exercisers looking for body transformation.
Most credible nutrition education today is meant for people looking to become professors, researchers (people who work at universities) or clinical dietitians (people who work at hospitals). So if you want to do any of that, you go to college, study for years and get a PhD or an RD. Both noble professions.
I got a PhD in the field myself, so I'm not knocking it. And Ryan Andrews, who co-wrote the textbook for the Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification, got his RD and worked out of Johns Hopkins. But neither of those roads teach you how to actually coach an exercising client through a body transformation.
That's a very specific skill set, requiring both an understanding of the science of nutrition and-this is critical-a reliable system for coaching it.
So unlike anything else out there right now, the Precision Nutrition Certification does both of those things. It was designed from the ground up, specifically for people who work with-or are looking to work with-clients.
Problem 2: They're, well, a joke.
I just Googled "nutrition certification" and found some 1000 or so results. Good God. The situation is bleak, my friends.
Of the non-university level nutrition certifications out there, I see plenty of garbage, quite frankly. Weekend seminars, no exams, no studying. Lots of rubber stamping.
Some are more challenging, I'm sure, and probably a few are even worth the money. I don't know-I can't look at the Google results for very long before getting depressed.
I think I would sum it up this way: if you're here, reading this, you've probably followed us for some time and you probably think a lot like us. And so I suspect you will probably benefit more from the Precision Nutrition Certification than from any other non-university-level nutrition education you are likely to find.
No. We assume no prior knowledge of biology, chemistry, etc, and so we don't require a university degree.
Now, if you were terrible in science, expect this certification to give you a little trouble. (You can still pass it with effort, though.)
But if you are generally comfortable with science and are willing to read and review, you can learn this stuff.
Yes. And given our exposure online, that's a big advantage for PN-Certified health and fitness professionals.
As we grow our online coaching programs, that advantage will grow with it. For example: Our coaching clients are often interested in finding a local trainer, one who actually knows what the hell they're doing, to help them out with their new exercise movements, etc.
In the past, we had no one to send them to.
I can't just send them blindly in the typical local fitness club with their Precision Nutrition exercise and nutrition program in hand. It would be a disaster.
The trainer doesn't know what to make of our program, or they start criticizing it or trying to change it. And the client spends half their time trying to mediate between us and them. Not good.
So with the Precision Nutrition Certification we're creating an army of coaches and fitness professionals who actually get it. Coaches who our readers, clients, and customers can trust.
What's more, by being Precision Nutrition Certified, trainers and coaches will be part of a network of local professionals that we trust and that we can refer our own clients to.
Once you're certified, you'll have a professional profile in our new online directory of Precision Nutrition Certified Professionals, so you'll be easy to find when people are looking for local help.
No, it's not accredited by any of the national education boards. Again, we're a research and coaching company, not a certification company.
If you want letters and a rubber stamp, there are organizations for that. At Precision Nutrition, we're all about passing on important and life-changing knowledge. We'll leave the bureaucratic hoops to other organizations.
However, I should mention that we are recognized as a continuing education provider by most of the top personal training organizations (see below). In addition, our course material is approved for teaching at the Masters level.
Most likely. The curriculum is pre-qualified for CEUs with the following organizations:
- ACE
- ACSM
- AND
- CPTN
- Fitness Australia
- NASM
- NSCA
- PTA Global
- REPs UK
This means that, if you are certified by any of the groups listed above, CEUs are guaranteed upon successful completion of the course.
I should also note that a host of additional organizations accept our course on a one-off basis. For these, graduates from our program submit a summary of the course and their certificate for review.
Note: We're also in the process of qualifying for CEUs with a select number of other international organizations.
In general, I recommend studying one chapter every week. Since the text contains 17 chapters, it'll take just over four months to complete.
We cover this in depth in the Certification, but here are the nuts and bolts:
Health and fitness professionals are allowed to make nutrition recommendations to otherwise healthy clients. So even without the Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification, trainers and coaches can make nutrition recommendations.
What we're offering is a much better system for making those recommendations.
The only scope of practice that's prohibited is Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), which means giving nutrition advice to treat or cure disease. You won't be qualified to do this, and you should never try, unless you're specifically MNT accredited.
Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification students weigh in and share their thoughts.
I want to share one more thing with you.
We recently went to our Facebook page (150,000+ fans) and asked our students and graduates to share their thoughts about the Level 1 Certification.
Here's what a few of them had to say:

"... changed my entire coaching and training style."
"... helped me grow my business."
"I now have a system and tools to change people's lives..."
Those are the words of the men and women who invested in themselves and are glad they did-even though they were initially nervous to pull the trigger.
Just like every other health and fitness professional on this page who shared their words of wisdom, they knew it was time to make a change.
And just like the thousands of other health and fitness professionals who came before them, they trusted me and my team to teach them how to get better results with their clients.
Which begs the question...
